Saskatoon Farm is in the City of Winton, about 30-40 minutes outside of Calgary, Alberta. The farm is known for its unique farm-to-table dining offering, and a memorable meal awaits if you visit the farm. The farm has a rich and exciting history, dating back to thirty-four years ago when Paul and Karen Hamer purchased a vacant barley field in the heart of the Foothills, where the Highwood and Sheep rivers meet. With a horticulture background and a dream to live and work in the countryside, Paul and Karen set about developing the vacant field. They had a vision for something unique, and over the next three decades, they did their possible best to create The Saskatoon Farm.
The farm grew to its current size, with gorgeous landscapes and an architectural marvel with additions. Today, you will find multiple greenhouses full of plants and flowers; a beautifully decorated old-fashioned street with a unique offering of gift shops selling eclectic treasures; a restaurant with an outdoor patio dining; a seasonal Farmer's Market with local and organic veggies; an annual U-Pick for berry-picking; and so much more.
